Every painting begins with the careful delineation of the shapes. The shapes can be so distorted and modified that they border on the abstract, but that's what makes them interesting. These outlines are the emotional skeletons upon which I build each composition.
I like glazing, which is to apply paint layer by thin layer. It creates an exquisite watercolour-like texture. Acrylics is my preferred medium because it's versatile and excellent for glazing.
I also like the impasto texture. For this, I use modeling paste, which allows me to create a impasto-like texture with acrylics.
My paintings are an interplay of light and dark colours, of bright and neutral hues, and of warm and cool tones. At the end, the finish is a harmonious arrangement of colours.
This disciplined process culminates in what I term "modern expressionism"—meaningful art painted in a unique style that is both structured in its creation and spontaneous in its expression.
