Colour and Value Transition Study No. 5 (2025)
By Osman Mia
16x23 inches, acrylic on paper
Continuing the series of sixteen planned studies on Colour and Value Transitions with a second batch of four abstracts. This is the fifth painting in the series and the first from this batch of four.

The series showcases harmony and flow achieved through transitions of colours and light values instead of abrupt changes. The rule is: Except where contrast is required, two different colours adjacent to one another must be the same light value. In the previous batch, shapes were generally next to each other; for this batch, shapes are layered and overlap each other.
